Work and Stress - having a Life, Not an ailment


A report from the national Institute of Occupational Safety and health quotes the following survey results:



  • 40% of workers reported their jobs acquire very or extremely stressful


  • 25% viewed their jobs are the largest source of stress throughout their lives


  • 26% said had been often or very often stressed or stressed by computer.


A study by University of Melbourne researchers year ago found that job stress accounts for 1/3 of depression cases in females and up to 1/3 of instances of cardiovascular disease in adult males.

These are amazing tips.

The answer to tackling stress where you work is two-fold. Firstly, you can push to make changes with their job itself - large picture approach. You choose to a clear idea of what is going wrong. The following can assist if the problem is actually not readily apparent.

Job Demands
Working extended hours, infrequent breaks, monotonous activities, having to work rapid results, not using full list of skills

Try to identify what can cause your stress, and work out what you should want to change to eliminate them.   • Create each relaxation routine. When something unexpected comes up you can fix it without being bothered. A routine may rapport something simple like relaxation exercises, a quick enjoyment technique, a walk available on the market office or outside, a vacation to the water cooler or a talk with someone.




  • Take mini-breaks during the day. Use your relaxation routine to get affordable effect. Make sure that you move around from the workspace.


In my own experience most managers will make at least some changes if you present them with your truth and a solution. If stress is impacting any health issues then it's a high priority, and you need to be proactive. As for the changes to your own life? They will all resolve positive difference and have well worth adding to your wellbeing. Don't become another statistic from stress at work!
